Privacy & photo use · Updated October 21, 2026
Your privacy.
This policy explains how HairMaxx handles information when you use the iPhone app or this website. Questions can be sent to hairmaxxsupport@gmail.com.
Information you choose to provide
- Account: your account identifier, email and any name or profile picture provided by Apple or Google when you sign in. HairMaxx does not receive your Apple or Google password.
- Hair profile: onboarding answers and the hair type, face shape, cosmetic styling estimates and suggestions produced from your selected scan photos.
- Saved content: routines, reminders, journal entries, saved styles, product lists and progress photos.
- Purchases: subscription status and purchase-related identifiers used to unlock and restore access. Apple handles payment details; HairMaxx does not receive your full payment-card details.
- Support: information you include when contacting us. Please do not email passwords, payment details or identity documents.
How photo analysis works
Before your first AI analysis, the app asks for permission to send your selected face and hair photos through Supabase to OpenAI. The purpose is to estimate a visible hair profile and suggest styles. You can decline and no analysis photos are sent by that action. Camera permission alone is not AI-sharing consent.
HairMaxx requests that OpenAI not store the generated response using the API’s storage setting. This is not a promise of zero provider retention: security, abuse-monitoring and other provider processing can still apply under OpenAI’s API data policies. HairMaxx does not keep a server-side photo library for these scans. Supabase stores user-linked scan results and usage records for service operation and limits.
What stays on your device
Onboarding answers, routines, journals, saved products and styles, progress photos, a saved scan photo and a copy of your hair profile are stored on your iPhone. These features are not all synchronized across devices. Operating-system backups may include app data according to your device and backup settings.
Services that process data
HairMaxx uses Supabase for authentication and server-side scan processing/results; OpenAI for AI analysis; RevenueCat for subscription status and restoration; and Apple and Google for the sign-in options you choose. Apple processes App Store purchases. These providers may process data outside your country under their own applicable terms and safeguards.
Why we use information
We use it to sign you in, personalize the app, analyze selected photos, save and display results, manage subscription access, enforce usage limits, deliver reminders you enable, answer support requests and protect the service. HairMaxx does not sell your personal information or use your scan photos for advertising.
Retention and deletion
Local content remains until you remove it or delete app data. Active server-side account and scan records are kept while needed to operate your account. Use Account → Delete account to delete your account, its active saved scan records and HairMaxx data on that device. Deletion is permanent. Backups, security logs, legally required records and independent provider purchase records may remain for their respective retention periods; deletion is not an assurance of immediate removal from every provider backup.
Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Cancel separately in Apple subscription settings. Data on another device or an existing device backup may require separate removal. See account deletion help.
Your choices
You can decline photo analysis, choose fewer optional scan angles, remove local content, control camera/photo/notification permission in iOS Settings, stop using a sign-in provider and request account or privacy help by email. Requests to access, correct or delete personal information can be sent to our support address; we may need to verify account ownership without asking for your password.
Website and technical information
This website does not include advertising pixels, analytics scripts, account forms or marketing cookies. The hosting and network providers may handle technical request information such as IP addresses and access logs to deliver and secure it. Links to Apple, Google and other providers take you to services with their own privacy policies.
Children and assessment limits
HairMaxx is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us. Hair analysis is a cosmetic photo estimate, not medical diagnosis, a measured follicle count or a test of hair porosity. Product information is not medical or allergy advice.
Changes and contact
We update this page when our practices change and will request fresh consent when a materially changed photo-analysis use requires it. Contact hairmaxxsupport@gmail.com for questions or requests.
